Pledge Now!

Take the 2009 Earth Day / EarthFest Boulder pledge. We'll add your name or business to the Who's In list and your location to the Map at left. We'll touch base soon with tips to help you follow through with your pledge.

I pledge to:

Chart a new course! I'll bike, bus, or carpool to work or school at least one time per week.
See the light! I will install five compact fluorescent light bulbs in my home within two weeks.
Be a climate leader! I'll get a home energy audit (average cost $100) to find out how to save money and reduce my home's carbon footprint. If I'm a renter and pay my energy bills, I'll talk with my landlord about getting an audit.
Save Water! I will install xeriscaping or plant native plants in my yard this year. If I don't have a yard, I'll save water inside my home with a low-flow showerhead and faucet aerators. Or, if I garden, I'll get drip irrigation and a rebate from the city of Boulder.
Buy Local and/or Organic Produce! I'll purchase 25% of my produce from Colorado farmers and at least 50% of the produce I purchase will be organic.
Embrace Mother Nature! I'll use my AC (or window unit) only on the summer's five hottest days!
